Uncrating and installation of a new HP digital press began today at the Columbia Label production facility. The company purchased the Indigo WS6800 Digital Press to further enhance its custom and specialty wine label and packaging production for Northwest wineries. The new press will be the latest model available anywhere on the West Coast.

Paris - June 30, 2017 - The cooperage industry in France announces moderate growth in 2016. Member companies of the Fédération des Tonneliers de France produced 601,595 barrels, representing sales totalling 409 million euros, an increase of 2.2% in volume and 4.6% in value, at constant scope. The volume for large format (tanks and vats) was up 5%, with 1,450 units produced.

Agrothermal Systems introduced Agroblow , a double-sided fan system to combat water damage on vertically grown crops. Agroblow mounts to the front end of a tractor and is intended as the first part of a sequential treatment: Agroblow precedes the Agrotherm XT machine blowing off water before the Agrotherm XT heats and dries the crop.

Parsec introduced its Oxylevel 2000 dissolved oxygen meter that features continuous monitoring in line, in bottle, and in tank. The Oxylevel 2200 is able to measure DO in parts per billion in a bottle through Parsec’s “DOT” technology that also can measure headspace oxygen.

Maverick Enterprises is now offering an emboss and hot stamp feature to decorate capsules. According to Maverick, the new feature allows lines to be thicker and artwork to have more bulk and substance while maintaining a bright and bold raised feature on the top of customer’s capsules.

Sello developed a new system to preserve the quality of wine in an opened bottle. The device, which is placed over the opening of a bottle, uses cartridges containing natural substances to slow the effects of light and oxidation on wine. The supplier claims an opened bottle can be preserved at optimum quality for seven days with the device.

Vinpak, Inc. now has a customized steam shrink-tunnel and steam generator from MPI Label Systems for the application of shrink sleeves on bottles and containers. The tunnel can apply shrink sleeves to bottles with varying circumference size and both pre-filled and post-filled containers as well as 2-packs of bottles.
