Precision farming equipment supplier Semios released a frost module that alerts growers to frost conditions as well as tracks the outcome of any frost damage mitigation measures. Using site-specific sensors, the frost module monitors temperature inversions every 10 minutes and provides “wet bulb” and sprinkler thresholds based on stage of bud development.

Vintuitive Winemaking Tools, formerly Vinnovation LLC., announced a new attachment for its LOTUS pumpover irrigator designed to work with square fermentation tanks. The new equipment works with the LOTUS to evenly distribute juice and fermenting wine over the cap in a square tank without overshooting the edges or missing corners.

Petaluma, California, May 26, 2015 – Team Scott Labs completed their second annual Tour de Cure fundraising ride on Sunday, May 3. With 96 riders, the team raised an impressive $63,500 toward diabetes research and funding. This topped last year’s fundraising amount by almost $7,000.

Scott Labs announced its now offering O-MEGA ML bacteria, which is adapted to high alcohol levels and lower cellar temperatures. The bacteria is produced by Lallemand which reports it has an alcohol tolerance of up to 17%, pH tolerance of 3.1, and a temperature tolerance of 57F. O-MEGA also produces little Diacetyl.
