Lots of gift-giving recommendations this week, such as the article in the Los Angeles Times by guest writer Patrick Comiskey. At the Wall Street Journal, columnists Gaiter and Brecher go looking for good wines under $11 and find several, most notably Malbecs from Argentina. And Fred Tasker, writing in the Miami Herald, recommends several fine Champagnes and sparkling wines for the holidays. JG

Financial Times: Wine columnist Jancis Robinson recommends dessert wines for the holidays. Notable selections include offerings from Dow's, Taylor Fladgate, Emilio Lustau, and Chateau Suduiraut. (Link)

Recommended are Baron Herzog Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, Yarden Mount Hermon White 2006, and TerrenalMendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2009.
