Business Week: Wine critic Robert Parker on Beaujolais. Highest rated is Daniel Bouland Morgon Vieilles Vignes 2006.

Bloomberg News Service: Wine columnist Elin McCoy on Pinot Noir wines from the Martinborough region of New Zealand. Praise for the elegant style, with nice mentions for Escarpment Vineyard, Martinborough Vineyard, Dry River Vineyard, Ata Rangi, Palliser Estate, and Craggy Range.

Financial Times: Wine columnist Jancis Robinson updates her opinions on the 2005 vintage wines of Bordeaux. Focus is on less expensive standouts, with more than a dozen cited. Also nice comments for Chateau Margaux, Chateau Canon, and Domaine de Chevalier.

Newsday: Staff writer Peter Gianotti recommends Bedell Cellars Chardonnay 2007.

San Francisco Chronicle: The Chronicle tasting panel reviews wines from Ribera del Duero. Very high praise for numerous entries, with highest rating of all going to Vina Sastre Crianza 2005.

San Francisco Chronicle: Wine editor Jon Bonne and staff writer Lynne Char Bennett on value wines from around the world. Cited are offerings from Chilean producers Apaltagua, Casa Lapostolle, Cosino-Macul, and Hacienda Araucano. From the Loire, producers named are Chateau de la Cantrie, Domaine de la Louvetrie, Domaine de la Pepiere, and Domaine de la Quilla. German producers cited are Erben von Beulwitz, Josef Leitz, G. A. Schneider, Wegler, and Joseph Rosch. From Sicily, the choices are wines from Corbera, Donnafugata, Feudi del Pisciotto, and Valle dell'Acate. And from Spain, the producers of value wines named are Cellers Can Blau, Bodega y Vinedos Artazu, Luna Beberide, and Bodegas Luzon.

Sacramento Bee: Wine columnist Mike Dunne offers a lengthy profile of critic Robert Parker, recently host of a tasting at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley.

San Jose Mercury News: Wine columnist Laurie Daniel on new ownership and plans for the old Paul Masson Mountain Winery.

San Diego Union Tribune: Wine columnist Robert Whitley on the recent controvery regarding Brunello wines. Also, high rating for Simi 'Roseto' 2007, which is also noted as a good value.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Wine writer Gil Kulers on sulfites in wine.

Washington Post: Wine columnists Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg on wines to pair with bold flavors. Mostly recommendations for varietals or wine types, but nice mentions for Las Rocas Garnacha 2005, Serenity Pinot Noir, and Nine Lives Shiraz.

Houston Chronicle: Wine columnist Dale Robertson offers a brief profile of Houston wine importer Douglas Skopp. Also, high score is given to Domaine Mourchon Grande Reserve 2005.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Wine writer Bill Ward on good value in wine. Case in point is Paul Jaboulet Aine Parallele 45 Cotes du Rhone 2007.

Dallas Morning News: The tasting panel picks bargain wines to pair with pork shoulder. The winners are Riefle Pinot Gris 2007, Paco & Lola Albarino 2007, Gruet Chardonnay 2006, and Marques de Caceres Crianza.

Rocky Mountain News: Wine columnist Ben Weinberg reports on a press junket to California sponsored by Diageo. Recommendations for Sterling Chardonnay 2006 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, Provenance Sauvignon Blanc 2007 and Merlot 2005, A by Acacia Chardonnay 2006 and Pinot Noir 2006, Moon Mountain Sauvignon Blanc 2006 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, and three from Beaulieu Vineyards - Coastal Estates Chardonnay 2006, Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, and Georges de Latour 2003.
