Napa, Calif.—The Napa Valley Grapegrowers group announced a new conference for growers, vineyard managers and winemakers called Rootstock to be held Nov. 13. The new event is designed to bring the Wine + Grape Expo and Viticulture Fair into one event.

“After 24 years of alternating our previous events, we realized that the continued maturation of the global wine industry requires an innovative gathering that reflects growth and the pursuit of quality,” said Michael Silacci, winemaker at Opus One winery, a Grapegrowers board member, and Rootstock founder in a statement released by the Grapegrowers. “Rootstock will do exactly that.”

Scheduled for when harvest typically has ended or is ending in the North Coast, the conference will feature “provocative seminars” and lectures by experts, wine tastings and an exhibition featuring more than 120 industry suppliers. The growers will also host a full day of conferences and lectures on professional development in Spanish on Nov. 12. Tickets are $275 general admission, $175 for Napa Valley Grapegrowers members and $25 for exhibition floor passes. For more information visit: napagrowers.org
