In the Financial Times, columnist Jancis Robinson reviews Bordeaux vintages that are ready to enjoy, with tasting notes on many chateaux across several vintages. Columnist Jon Bonne, writing in the San Francisco Chronicle, takes a long and critical look at Merlot wines from Napa Valley and though he finds many to be lacking in character, balance, or value, several are singled out for praise.
