In the New York Times, columnist Eric Asimov goes looking for some bargain Bourgogne wines, and finds more than just a few to like. Columnist Bill St John, writing in the Chicago Tribune, offers tasting notes on many grower and small-production Champagnes. And wine blogger Joe Roberts (1WineDude) reports from Porto on the Wines of Portugal International Conference 2010, and the many fine wines he has encountered. JG

Top choice among white wines is FichetBourgogne Blanc Vieilles Vignes 2008, while Thierry & Pascal Matrot Bourgogne Blanc 2008 is noted as a good value.
