Sadly, Bill Daley has stepped down as the Chicago Tribune wine columnist, giving way this week to Bill St. John, who writes on wines made from old vines. In the New York Times, columnist Eric Asimov takes a loving look at wines made from Mourvedre. And in the Los Angeles Times, guest writer Patrick Comiskey explores wines of the Piedmont beyond those produced from the Nebbiolo grape variety. JG
