Business Week: Wine critic Robert Parker on wines from O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery. Highest rated are the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, and the Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 and 2005.

Newsday: Staff writer Peter Gianotti recommends wines from Long Island for summer enjoyment. Producer mentions include Macari Vineyards, Lieb Family Cellars, Jamesport Vineyards, Medolla Vineyards, Borghese, Corey Creek Vineyards, Wolffer Estate, and Shinn Estate Vineyards.

USA Today: Wine columnist Jerry Shriver recommends La Brancia Tre 2005, Starborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007, and Barefoot Moscato NV.

Newark Star-Ledger: Wine writer John Foy on the Sokol Blosser winery in Oregon. Praise for the Sokol Blosser Meditrina.

San Francisco Chronicle: The Chronicle tasting panel reviews Sauvignon Blanc wines from Sonoma County. Highest rated is Benziger Signaterra Shone Farm Vineyard 2007.

San Francisco Chronicle: Guest writer Georgeanne Brennan on Israeli wine and California producers with a hand in the business. Focus is on Flam Winery.

San Francisco Chronicle: Wine editor Jon Bonne on vintner Joel Gott and his project of remaking the Sutter Home 'Ranch' production facility into a fine wine facility for dozens of small producers.

Sacramento Bee: Wine columnist Mike Dunne on the annual wine tasting competition at the California State Fair. No brand mentions.

Los Angeles Times: Guest writer Jean T. Barrett on affordable wines for summer. Focus is on varietals and wine types, not brands, but nice mention Louis Jadot Beaujolais 2005.

Washington Post: Wine writers Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg on wines to accompany barbecued ribs. Nice mentions for Muri-Gries Alto Adige Lagrein Rosato 2007, Artazu Artazuri Garnacha Rosado 2007, El Coto di Rioja Rosado 2007, Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Villages 2006, Summers Villa Andriana Vineyard Zinfandel 2006, Rosemount Show Reserve GSM 2005, Moet & Chandon White Star NV, Domaine Carneros Brut Rose, Kluge SP Rose 2004, and Gruet Rose Brut NV. Karen's top choice, though, is Artezin Zinfandel 2006, while Andrew favors Rosemount Diamond Label Shiraz 2006.

Houston Chronicle: Wine columnist Dale Robertson on rose wines. Nice comments on a number of wines - mainly from the South of France, but top score goes to Balandran Les Mugues 2007. Also, local wine expert Saree Mulhern suggests Endiku 'Shamhat' Rose 2007.

Arizona Republic: Wine columnist Mark Tarbell answers questions from readers. Along the way, nice comments for wines from Gabbiano, Sexto, Rex Goliath, Cycles Gladiator, and Mer Soleil.

Minneapolis Star Tribune: Wine writer Bill Ward on the Cannon River Winery in Minnesota. Nice comments for Cannon River St. Pepin 2006.

Dallas Morning News: Wine writer Kim Pierce on wines from Frei Brothers. Nice comments on the Reserve Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2006 and the Reserve Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2006.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Wine writer Jeff Siegel on a new book from author Robin Goldstein, with a focus on inexpensive wine. Tasting notes on three favorites are offered - Avalon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc, and Famega Vinho Verde.

Rocky Mountain News: Wine columnist Ben Weinberg on traveling with wine. Recommended white wines this week are Zardetto Prosecco NV, Naia Verdejo 2007, Chehalem Pinot Gris 2007, and J.J. Prum Riesling Kabinett 2006. Reds recommended are Villa Spinosa Valpolicella Classico 2004, Cline Sonoma Coast Syrah 2006, Finca Sobreno Toro 2004, and Domaine Serene Yamhill Cuvee Pinot Noir 2005.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel: Wine writer Bob Hosmon on affordable wines. Recommendations for Merlot include offerings from Concannon, El Portillo, and Columbia Grand Estates. For Pinot Noir, the choice is Baron Philippe de Rothschild Pinot Noir 2006. Edna Valley Paragon Chardonnay 2005 gets a nod, as do Golden Kaan Pinotage 2007, and Vin Gris de Cigare 2007.

Miami Herald: Wine columnist Fred Tasker on wines for grilled foods. Highest recommendations are for Bonny Doon Le Cigare Blanc 2006, and Maison Bouachon Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'La Tiare du Pape' 2005. On onother page, praise for Dolce 2004.

Nashville Tennessean: Wine columnist Frank Sutherland on organic and organically farmed wines. Top choice is Honig Sauvignon Blanc 2006.

Chicago Tribune: Wine reporter Bill Daley on rose wines for summer, with comments from author and rose producer Jeff Morgan.
