Bloomberg News Service: Wine columnist Elin McCoy on the wines of Chateau Miraval in Provence, which has been in the news as a residence of Brat Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Nice comments for Villa Maria Private Bin Riesling 2007, Chalone Vineyard Monterey County Chardonnay 2006, Calistoga Estate Chardonnay 2006, Calistoga Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2006, and Tortoise Creek Sauvignon Blanc 2007. Karen's top pick is Tortoise Creek Chardonnay 2006, while Andrew favors Cristalino Cava Brut NV.

Houston Chronicle: Wine columnist Dale Robertson on vintner Pierre Seillan and his wines. Praise for the Lassegue St. Emilion 2004, and Chateau Vignot 2003. Also, recommendation from local Houston retailer for Balbo Torrontes 2006.

Mostly comments on regions and varieties, not brands, but mentions for wines from Susana Balbo, Finca Koch, Michel Torino, Mario Felluga, Tenuta Ca' Bolani, Etude, St. Supery, Sutton, Coppola, Nine Vines, Caceres, Muga, La Vieille Ferme, Bethel Heights, Adelsheim, Montinore, Byron, and Alma Rosa.

Rocky Mountain News: Guest columnist Ben Weinberg on wine discoveries. Recommended are four from D'Arenberg - the Viognier Marsanne 'Hermit Crab' 2006, the Roussanne 'Monkey Spider' 2006, the Footbolt Shiraz 2004, and the Laughing Magpie Shiraz Viognier 2006. Two from Paitin are recommended - the Barbera d'Alba Campolive 2004, and Arneis Langhe Elisa 2005. And from Trefethen, recommended wines are the Dry Riesling 2007, and Estate Merlot 2004.

Nice comments for the Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2006, Nicole's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2006, Robert Thomas Vineyard Pinot Noir 2006, and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2006. Also, a recommendation for Bennett Lane White Maximus 2007.

Miami Herald: Wine columnist Fred Tasker on wines from Howard Park winery in Australia. Top recommendations go to the Riesling 2007, 'Scotsdale' Shiraz 2005, and Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2004. On another page, praise for the Mommessin Clos de Tart 2003, despite the price tag. On yet another page, recommendation of Fratelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2006 as a bargain.

Nashville Tennessean: Wine columnist Frank Sutherland on good value sparkling wines for weddings. Top choice is Marquis de la Tour Brut.

The Oregonian: Wine columnist Matt Kramer on new wine finds. Cases in point are Bodegas Munoz Legado Tempranillo 2007, and Paolo Saracco Moscato d'Asti 2007.
