Good week for profiles, with Lettie Teague of the Wall Street Journal talking to Robert Schagrin of Crush Wine & Spirits in New York, while Dave McIntyre of the Washington Post interviews wine importer Robert Karcher. Wall Street Journal: Wine columnist Lettie Teague on new wines from Portugal, with recommendations for Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Reserva 2007, Quinta do Vale Dona Maria 2005, Twisted Douro 2007, Quinta do Vale Meao Meandro 2007, and Quinta del la Rosa 2007.
