Napa, Calif.—Kirsty Cringan is the new chief financial officer for Trinchero Family Estates, TFE. Cringan replaces Mark Smithers who after 21 years as CFO is moving into a new role working with the Trinchero family and shareholders on corporate initiatives. “We are happy for Mark and his family as he moves on to the next phase of his career,” CEO Bob Torkelson said in the press release announcing the change. “In his 21 years at TFE, Mark was instrumental in developing our world-class finance team and providing valuable insight that helped us grow.”

Cringan brings 22 years’ experience in financial operations, including 17 years with Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines in the roles of vice president finance and business planning, vice president business performance and operations controller. Most recently, Cringan oversaw the transition of most of Diageo’s wine business during its acquisition by Treasury Wine Estates. “With Kirsty’s breadth of knowledge leading technical and financial operations globally, we know she will be an excellent leader of our finance group,” Torkelson said.

Cringan, originally from Scotland, holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and business law from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland.
