St. Helena, Calif.—Alejandro P. Bulgheroni announced his acquisition of a Napa Valley winery. Located at 500 Meadowood Lane, the winery was formerly used as the Founders Room of the Harlan Estate and produced the first vintages of The Napa Valley Reserve wines. According to the press release announcing Bulgheroni’s purchase, the vintner also plans to enhance the winery’s winemaking and hospitality facilities. Bulgheroni produces Cabernet Sauvignon wines from estate and other Napa Valley vineyards with winemaking operations led by Philippe Melka with consulting enologist Michel Rolland.

The inaugural release of Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate wines, the 2014 vintage, is planned to coincide with the winery’s opening in Feburary of 2017. “It has long been my goal to establish a winery here in Napa Valley,” said Bulgheroni. “The remarkable lithology of the rocky hillsides, diverse microclimates, and unique topography make it the ideal location to make a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. I’m very pleased to be a part of the Napa Valley wine community, and I look forward to working with the valley's best growers to craft unique wines of great personality.”
