Rutherford, Calif.—Peju Province Winery announced its purchase of the Acacia Vineyard winery in the Carneros AVA. The facility had not been part of Treasury Wine Estate’s $600 million buy out of Dieageo's wine group. Treasury did acquire the Acacia brand but not the winery on Las Amigas Road.

According to a statement released by Peju, the 100,000-case winery and 100-acre estate will be owned and operated by Peju Province Winery but do business under a different name. The Peju family are considering launching a custom-crush program at the winery in addition to expanding the Peju brand. “It has always been a long-term goal of the company’s to own more than one winery,” said winery owner Ariana Peju. “We are thrilled with our recent purchase and look forward to extending and enhancing our brand.”

The Peju family founded its Rutherford winery in 1983 and now produce about 50,000 cases per year. The deal closed Jan. 1, and was led by Vintage Capital and Unity Bank.
