Sonoma, Calif.—Landmark Vineyards acquired Hop Kiln Vineyards in the Russian River Valley.

“We are excited to integrate Hop Kiln’s historic estate and vineyards into our luxury wine portfolio,” said David Ricanati, president of Landmark Vineyards in a statement announcing the purchase.

Grapes have grown on the Hop Kiln property since the late 1800s. The hop kiln building itself is a registered California Historical Landmark and is recognized by the California Office of Historic Preservation as “the most significant surviving example of a stone hop kiln in the North Coast region.”

The vineyards at Hop Kiln are located in the Russian River Valley and are suited for growing premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The acquisition includes the current estate on Westside Road in Healdsburg, Calif., and more than 240 acres of land within the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley AVA. Hop Kiln had been owned by the Vero Wine Group. Landmark is owned by Wonderful Co., which had previously be named Roll Global.
