Paso Robles, Calif.—Niner Wine Estates announced it installed a new solar array that provides all of the power needed for its production winery, tasting room and restaurant. San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based REC Solar installed the array, which consists of a bank of panels set in the ground that produce 156 kW and roof-mounted panels that generate 203 kW. The system is expected to produce more than 600,000 KWh per year. "It's really just another step in an ongoing process of figuring out how to make our business more environmentally sustainable," said winery president Andy Niner. "It goes along with our focus on 'estate.’ We own all of our own vineyards, we make all of our wine on-site and are developing our own estate food program."
