Calistoga, Calif.—Following the departure of Keith Hock who's launched his own consulting venture, Schramsberg Vineyards & J Davies Vineyards promoted Sean Thompson to the post of senior winemaker. Thompson, who joined the company in 2006, will oversee all aspects of the production of Schramsberg sparkling wine and Davies Vineyards red wine. Dan Person was promoted to associate winemaker for Schramsberg Vineyards from assistant winemaker, and Jessica Koga rejoins the production team as associate winemaker for Davies wines. Koga will handle day-to-day operations at Davies and coordinate the bottling, riddling and disgorging of the Schrambsberg sparkling wines, according to a statement from the winery.
