Napa, Calif.—Cuvaison Wine Estates announced the sale of its Calistoga winery and tasting room to Criswell-Radovan, LLC., which, according to the press release announcing the deal, will continue to operate the winery as a custom crush facility with the same production and management team. The Calistoga winery had been Cuvaison’s home from 1969 until 2004 when the company built a new winery in the Carneros AVA.

Swiss billionaire Thomas Schmidheiny purchased Cuvaison and the Carneros property in 1979 at the suggestion of his mother. Schmidheiny later purchased the Brandlin estate in the Mt. Veeder AVA. Both Cuvaison and Brandlin wines have been made at the Carneros property since 2004.

Criswell-Radovan is a real estate management firm based in St. Helena, Calif., and will operate the Calistoga property as Fairwinds Estate Winery. Terms of the deal, which was brokered by Santa Rosa, Calif.-based Zepponi & Company, were not disclosed.
