Carneros, Calif.—Donum Estate, which, according to Wines Vines analytics, currently produces 5,000 cases annually out of Punchdown custom crush in Santa Rosa, is beginning construction of its own winery, scheduled to open just in time for the 2019 harvest. The new facility will also include a hospitality pavilion where Donum guests can enjoy wine tastings overlooking the Carneros estate vineyards. According to architect Matt Hollis of MH Architects in San Francisco, Calif., the general design of both the winery and the hospitality space are inspired by the historic farm buildings surrounding the area and “pay homage to the legacy of the site, recalling its previous life as a dairy."
