Bouchard Cooperages announced the release of a new barrel “developed specifically for bolder Bordeaux varietals and blends.” The new Richelieu barrel is produced at Tonnellerie Billon using a “unique, proprietary blend of oak from small, microclimates within three of the finest forests in France,” according to the supplier.

The new LeafMon system by Cermetek calculates a plant’s crop water stress index to help growers make informed irrigation decisions based on real-time conditions. The system employs a suite of sensors that monitor representative plants through the entire growing season. The sensors are non-destructive and the system is designed to serve as an alternative to a pressure bomb test.

The concentrating pipette is an automated, rapid micro-particle concentrator for general microbiological analysis. InnovaPrep reports the device provides a “front-end to rapid microbial detection in minutes, replacing laborious centrifugation or enrichment steps.
