BSG introduced two new yeasts for grapes picked later in harvest, VP5 and Premium Zinfandel, which the supplier reports also work well as cofermentors. VP5 is an isolate from the province of Valpolicella in Italy and suited for producing “young, fresh red wines enhancing fragrant aromas.

Criveller is now offering an augerless receiving hopper that is designed to move large volumes of grapes, up to 80 tons per hour, gently. According to Criveller, the machine employs “helical rollers that hold the fruit and slowly doses it onto the attached stainless steel augerless conveyance system.” The system can be used to move whole clusters as well as machine harvested grapes.

Sentera updated its AgVault 2.0 mobile iOS app featuring a battery-swap capability that enables the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles to plan flights of any duration and “seamlessly accommodates any number of battery swap outs.” The supplier reports the system recalls the exact coordinates where a UAV had to stop a job because of low battery power.
