Napa, Calif.—Ted Hall of Long Meadow Ranch has been named the 2017 Napa Valley Grower of the Year. Hall will be honored for his contributions to the Napa Valley wine industry and the community on May 12 at the Napa Valley Grapegrowers 42nd Annual Dinner.

Hall has been President & CEO of Long Meadow Ranch since 1989. "Ted’s contributions to the Napa Valley have been crucial to the continued success of agriculture in the Napa Valley," said Napa Valley Grapegrowers president Garrett Buckland in the statement announcing Hall's honor. "He inspires others by example and his dedication to agricultural and environmental preservation are unparalleled."

Hall currently serves on the Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) Board of Directors and is a member of the NVG Industry Issues Committee. In 2016, Hall chaired the Napa County Agriculture Protection Advisory Committee (APAC), which met for more than nine months to discuss the future of agriculture in Napa Valley.

Hall was born in Beaver Falls, Penn., and lived on his family's farm in nearby Potter Township. He attended Princeton University and completed his studies with a graduate degree from Stanford University (MBA). He later served in the Unites States Marine Corps. Throughout his life, he has been a musician and still plays the jazz trombone and the piano regularly.
