Sonoma, Calif.—Don Sebastiani & Sons promoted Tom Hawkins to the post of chief operating officer. Hawkins joined the wine and food company in 2009 as vice president of finance. His responsibilities soon grew to include including finance, operations, winemaking, marketing, human resources and information technology. According to the press release announcing the promotion, Hawkins spearheaded installation of the company’s advanced enterprise resource planning, ERP, systems; developed relationships with growers and winemakers in Chile to supply the company’s Smoking Loon and Pepperwood Grove wines; negotiated new banking relationships and implemented companywide cost-savings programs.

In 2012, Hawkins was promoted to chief financial officer and two years later was named “Winery CFO of the Year” by North Bay Business Journal. Following Hawkins’ promotion, the company hired Omar Percich as its new CFO. Percich previously was the CFO at Foley Family Wines.
