Rohnert Park, Calif.—Ray Johnson has been promoted from director to executive director of the Wine Business Institute of Sonoma State University School of Business and Economics. In Johnson’s new, expanded role he will be responsible for programs and events at the future Wine Spectator Learning Center, which is scheduled to open in 2017. During his tenure as director, Johnson oversaw a significant increase in annual enrollment and secured more than $10 million in support for wine business education and research as well as expanded access for students to wine industry careers, scholarships, and internships.
