Oakville, Calif.—After a complete renovation by architect Howard Backen, the historic Victorian building adjacent to the Oakville Grocery has reopened as the tasting room of the new wine company Durant & Booth. The name refers to Frederick Durant and Joseph Booth who ran the grocery in the early 1900s. Durant & Booth will offer nine wines from Napa and Sonoma counties and most will be blends of uncommon varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Roussanne and Grenache. The grocery, which is now a popular deli on Highway 29, is owned by Leslie Rudd who also is the owner of Rudd Oakville Estate and Rudd Wines Winery.
