Santa Rosa, Calif.—Citing personal reasons, the executive director of the Sonoma County Vintners announced her resignation from the post in a press release issued Tuesday evening.

Carolyn Stark announced her resignation after she had held the position for just a year, and while the vintners group is helping to host an elaborate tasting pavilion at the Super Bowl City event this week in San Francisco.

Before taking the position at the vintners’ group, Stark had been the executive director of Sonoma County BEST for three years. Stark replaced Honore Comfort who had been the leader of the vintners’ group for almost a decade.

According to the statement announcing Stark’s resignation, the vintners’ board of directors has started the search for a replacement and plans to hire an interim a leader soon. “We appreciate Carolyn’s contributions to Sonoma County Vintners since joining the organization last year and wish her very well,” said Caroline Shaw, president of the vintners’ board and chief marketing officer at Jackson Family Wines. “We will soon name an interim executive director and anticipate a smooth transition while our search begins for a replacement.”
