Rutherford, Calif.—The Skalli family is selling St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery to the luxury goods firm Chanel, Inc. Robert Skalli purchased more than 1,500 acres of Napa Valley land in 1982 and three years later bought the 52-acre parcel in Rutherford that would be the site of the estate winery. The Skallis own vineyards and wineries in the Languedoc, Rhone Valley, Provence and Corsica. The sale is expected to be finalized later this month and terms of the deal were not disclosed. Demeter Group and Rothschild acted as advisers to St. Supéry on the deal. "I am delighted to hand over St. Supery to such a well-regarded company that understands luxury brands and will continue to enhance this special property,” Skalli said in a statement announcing the acquisition.
