Carmel Valley, Calif.—A Los Angeles couple purchased Joullian Vineyards winery, which was founded in 1982. Jane Lerum, a director of the Arnall Family Foundation, and Tom Lerum an officer in the Air Force, said in a statement they plan to preserve the winery’s 40 acres of Bordeaux variety grape vines as well as the Joullian brand identity. The Joullian and Sias families of Oklahoma City founded the winery, and former owner Dick Sias said he’s happy new owner Jane Lerum is an Oklahoma native. Ridge Watson, who has been the Joullian winemaker since it opened, will remain head winemaker.
