Yountville, Calif.—Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute announced a partnership with Domaine Chandon winery to offer a series of seminars for wine industry professionals in the Napa Valley, as well as Chandon employees Nov. 4-5.

Offered in consecutive sessions over a day and half, the seminars are intended to provide practical insights into three of the most pressing topics for wineries. The first seminar focuses on budgeting and forecasting, while the other two examine e-commerce and direct-to-consumer marketing respectively.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Best Practices for Wine Businesses (Nov. 4, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.) focuses on best practices, building budgets, and forecasts for wine industry businesses.

Practical Strategies to Increase eCommerce (Nov. 5, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) covers everything from how to test and optimize the design of your website to increase the user experience, to using social media that actually boosts your website traffic.

Direct to Consumer Marketing (Nov. 5, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.) looks beyond the obvious sales made in the tasting room, instead focusing on sales driven by newsletters, wine club activity, events and other less common direct marketing strategies.
