Brussels, Belgium—The members of Federation Internationale des Vins et Spiritueux (FIVS) unanimously reelected Greg Hodson, Chief Technical Regulatory Liaison of E. & J. Gallo Winery, as president of the federation.

Hodson said in a press release, “I am deeply honored to continue to serve as president and look forward to building upon the foundation we have laid over the last few years. We have made great advances in fashioning FIVS to play a unique and important role for the industry, promoting its economic, social and environmental sustainability, but much remains to be done.”

The federation’s two-day conference included presentations on the application of novel approaches throughout the life-cycle of alcohol beverages, including in harvest, production, and sale. The second day focused on “hot topics” such as the emergence of very restrictive regulatory proposals around the world, the increased introduction of sustainable environmental practices and innovative technologies to combat counterfeit activity. A concluding reception recognized FIVS’s new partnership with Wine in Moderation, an organization that promotes moderate consumption of wine.
