Santa Rosa, Calif.—The Sonoma County Winegrowers hired Emily Lambert Farrant as its new sustainability manager. Farrant is a fifth-generation Sonoma County native whose parents were apple growers and for the past five years she has worked in 14 countries for the environmental and safety consulting firm Greeneye Partners that specializes in electronics recycling. Robert Lavine, who joined the winegrowers in 2014 as sustainability manager, will move into a consulting role working with growers one-on-one with self-assessment and certification and participate in grower workshops. The winegrowers group has committed to certifying all of Sonoma County's vineyards as sustainable by 2019.
