Napa, Calif.—Hyde de Villaine, HdV, winery announced its purchase of the 33.5-acre parcel that has been the winery’s home since 2003. The property is comprised of 24-acres of vineyards, a 3,750-square-foot winery and a residence. The company described the purchase as a testament to "HdV’s commitment to the Napa Valley and the tradition of family ownership."

According to a statement released by the winery, HdV plans to retrofit the existing crush pad and replant the vineyard where needed with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc while maintaining the winery’s focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. “We have no plans on changing,” said general manager James Eyer in a statement. “95% of our fruit will continue to come from Hyde Vineyard; we are merely taking advantage of an outstanding opportunity.”

Hyde de Villaine is a partnership between the Hyde family, owners of the Hyde Vineyard in Carneros and the de Villaine family, owners of A&P de Villaine and co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Burgundy. Led by Larry Hyde, the Hyde de Villaine project was established in 2000 with a focus on Burgundian winemaking philosophies with fruit from Hyde Vineyard.
