Oakville, Calif.—Christian Moueix, owner of Dominus Estate in Napa Valley and eight wineries in France, announced the launch of his new brand Ulysses. The wine is an estate-bottled Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Ulysses is produced with grapes from a vineyard situated along the Oakville Bench at the foot of the Mayacamas Range. The property was part of the original Charles Hopper Ranch in the 1800's, and was purchased by Moueix in 2008. "Since then," Moueix said in a press release, "we have undertaken meticulous vineyard restoration. We needed time to study the soil types and microclimates of the property."
