St. Helena, Calif.—Rutherford Wine Company, which includes Rutherford Ranch Winery and other brands, purchased a 30-acre property in the Napa County portion of the Carneros AVA. General Manager Morgan Zaninovich said the wine company has purchased grapes from the property for years and his family jumped at the chance when the Branagan family decided it was time to sell the property. Zaninovich said Rutherford Wine Company plans on using the fruit in the Rutherford Ranch and Scott Family Estate Wines portfolio. “We have exciting plans for a new brand using select blocks from the property as well,” he added.
