Gallo acquires Napa Valley vineyards
Modesto, Calif.— Gallo Vineyards Inc., an affiliate of E. & J. Gallo Winery, has purchased Cypress Ranch and a portion of the Palisades Vineyard in Napa Valley.
According to a press release by Gallo, the combined 642 acres consist of approximately 258 acres of vineyards. The purchase price was not disclosed. The vineyard produces a variety of red wine grapes including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Malbec. The property also lies adjacent to the Sun Lake Vineyard farmed by Gallo, bringing the combined planted acreage to 358 acres.
Gallo continues to expand its presence in California's coastal regions. In March, the company purchased J Vineyards and Winery located in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, best known for producing award winning sparkling wines, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Last year, the company purchased two North Coast properties totaling more than 500 acres in Solano County.
