Opus One cellarmaster retires to launch brand

Napa, Calif.—Mike Farmer has launched his own wine brand after recently retiring from Opus One winery where he worked for more than 20 years as assistant winemaker and cellarmaster. Farmer and his son Lucas Farmer are calling their brand Euclid Wines in honor of Mike Farmer’s grandfather whose first name was Euclid. The Farmers’ current release is a 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Howell Mountain area of Napa Valley and a Sierra Nevada Foothills Syrah.
